Chevrolet just debuted the 2024 Colorado ZR2 Bison – a beefed up version of the already impressive Colorado ZR2. The new Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison stands bigger and wider than its predecessor, making it the most capable midsize truck.
Chevy’s new pickup features Multimatic suspension hardware with upgrades like the Multimatic front and rear jounce control dampers and power-locking front and rear differentials. The pickup becomes even more capable with the addition of special American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) accessories and segment-exclusive all-terrain tires, lending to its rugged, eye-catching style.
Even with its upgrades, the Bison edition stays true to its ZR2 name. Under the hood, the 2.7-liter Turbo High-Output powertrain comes standard, giving you 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. With the Bison’s 5,500-pound tow rating, you’ll be able to haul everything you need for your next off-road adventure.

Aggressive Bison Look
The Colorado ZR2 Bison’s aggressive stance will certainly stand out from any crowd. The new Bison appears larger and tougher in stature than its competition, like the 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trail Hunter or the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor. Its exclusive AEV equipment, including its wider fender flares, full-width steel front bumper, and rear bumper with steel corner plates, gives the new Bison an aggressive, ready-for-anything look and feel.
What truly makes the 2024 Colorado ZR2 Bison a standout is its tires. Chevy’s midsize monster pickup boasts 17-inch AEV beadlock-capable wheels wrapped in segment-exclusive 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory Mud/Terrain tires. This set of wheels allows the truck to stand 1.5 inches higher than its ZR2 counterpart, with a slight suspension lift adding to the height.
The Bison’s front and rear tracks are almost an inch wider than the ZR2, coming in at 66.3 inches. Under the truck, you’ll see five underbody Boron steel skid plates, covering the fuel tank and the rear differentials for extra protection on tougher terrains. In addition, a set of steel rock rails come standard on the new Bison model.
Off-Road Upgrades
The 2024 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison comes equipped with front and rear stamped steel bumper from AEV, with two recovery eyelets on the rear and the front bumper coming with winch capabilities. While Chevy kept the same type of Multimatic spool-valve dampers as the regular ZR2, they revamped them to handle the Bison’s extra mass. These dampers have been re-tuned for the new Bison model have three different positions based on your travel and it’s been equipped with a heavier front spring rate to accommodate the winch and the weight of the bumper.
The truck’s power and torque are evenly distributed with the power-locking front and rear differentials, so all four wheels can work together to power your ride. In addition, Multimatic also supplies hydraulic front and rear bump stops, which Chevy refers to as Jounce Control Dampers, to help you handle more aggressive off-roading. The truck’s AEV bumper decreases its approach angle from 38.6 to 38.2 degrees, boasts an improved breakover angle of 26.9 degrees, and a departure angle of 26.0 degrees.
If you end up with a flat tire, The ZR2 Bison features a bed-mounted spare tire carrier that includes a full-size tire and a matching wheel. The space keeps the spare tire vertical and tucked as close to the cab as possible, keeping it discrete and allowing for full use of your cargo space.
On the inside, you’ll enjoy comfortable, Bison-specific cloth upholstery or AEV-branded leather interior with yellow stitching, yellow seat belts, and AEV-designed underbody cameras fixed by the transmission for front and rear views of the truck.

Why Buy an SUV?
There are countless reasons that SUV drivers love their vehicles, but we’ll highlight just a few below! In fact, sport utility vehicles (SUVs) are one of the most popular vehicle segments today, and here’s why:
- Practicality
SUVs’ larger size allows for ample space for cargo and crew. Many models can be reconfigured to meet your needs, whether you’re folding down seats to transport lots of luggage or maximizing passenger space to transport your whole crew. Crossovers are on the smaller end of the spectrum, making them the perfect option for littler families. On the opposite end, full-size SUVs offer seating for up to seven or eight, with three rows providing endless opportunities.
- Safety
Their sheer size makes SUVs safer than cars, with their sturdier, heavier design often able to withstand a greater collision force. Plus, Chevy SUVs come equipped with the latest safety and driver assistance features, like blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, pedestrian detection, and more.
- Fuel Efficiency
SUV manufacturers have worked to improve fuel efficiency, with each new model year often boasting higher and higher mpg ratings. Many models now offer hybrid engine and all-electric options as well, maximizing fuel economy – and drivers’ savings at the pump!
- Durability
Designed for active families, SUV models are more adventure-equipped than sedans and other smaller vehicles. In fact, many SUV models include an off-road trim in their line-up, with features specifically crafted for heading off the beaten path. From city streets to rugged terrain, you’ll enjoy a smooth ride in your new Chevy SUV!
- Towing Capacity
Because they feature larger, more robust engines under their hoods, many SUVs offer impressive towing capabilities. Full-size models can even tow recreational vehicles, like boats, campers, jet-skis, and more – perfect for summer fun!
Popular Chevrolet SUVs
Chevrolet Equinox Despite its compact size, the Equinox goes big on performance – and looks great doing it! In addition to agile handling and easy maneuverability, this five-seater Chevy offers the most innovative safety and driver assistance features – like standard autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and lane keep assistance. Plus, enjoy access to Teen Driver Technology and added peace of mind as your new driver takes the wheel. Don’t forget to check out the convenient underfloor storage area, adding cubic feet to the already generous cargo capacity!
Chevrolet Traverse Need more space to accommodate your growing family? The Chevy Traverse is a popular solution, with three rows of comfy seating and Smart Slide® tech that makes for easy loading/unloading. The Hands-Free Liftgate is another convenient feature that highlights Chevy’s commitment to creating SUVs that are both fashionable and functional. Powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine and nine-speed automatic transmission, the Chevy Traverse has plenty of pick-up – despite its larger size! Choose from five available trim levels, ranging from affordable to ultra-lux, and find the model that best fits your needs and budget.
The Chevy Suburban With seating for up to nine, the Suburban confirms once and for all that you don’t have to sacrifice style for space. Even the biggest families will enjoy an upscale cabin and voluminous cargo hold like never seen before. In contrast to its competitors, the Suburban offers generous third-row legroom, with power folding seats that make it simple to reconfigure the cabin and optimize storage space (121 cubic feet max!). Plus, despite its large size, the Suburban’s EcoTec3 engine, intelligent automatic transmission, and lightweight suspension system provide best-in-class fuel economy – 23 mpg on the highway! And much to weekend warriors’ delight, this must-drive model can tow up to 8,300 pounds with ease!

Top 5 Tips For Maintaining Your Vehicle
Routine maintenance is key to keeping your vehicle running smoothly. Because our certified technicians know your vehicle from bumper to bumper, we’re equipped to perform expert work under the hood – always going above and beyond!
Here at Legacy Chevrolet, we’ve detailed the most important five services needed to keep your car in tip-top shape, so read on to learn more! And if it’s time for a tune-up, schedule your Chevrolet service appointment today!
Brake Service
While auto enthusiasts focus on harnessing top horsepower, your vehicle’s brake system is arguably even more important – especially for everyday drives. Because it’s essential that your vehicle stops safely and efficiently, our Chevrolet service experts provide trusted Greenwood brake service in SC.
Your driving habits influence brake service intervals, with vehicles that routinely tow heavy loads needing maintenance more often. Off-road drivers and those you encounter heavy traffic regularly may also require service more frequently.
Squealing or grinding sounds indicate an issue, so if you hear strange noises while braking, schedule service as soon as possible. Other signs that Chevrolet service is needed include brakes that feel “spongy,” an illuminated brake warning light, and a car pulling to one side when braking.
Your factory-trained technician will inspect your vehicle’s brake pads, rotors, clips, and calipers to make sure everything is in working order – and if repairs are needed, we’ll handle that too!
Oil Changes
Delaying oil change services can have serious consequences, not only decreasing your vehicle’s performance but risking damage to your engine. When oil is dirty and sludgy or levels dip too low, your engine can no longer function as it should. Clean oil, however, prevents overheating and debris build-up, so there’s no denying its essential role in keeping your vehicle running right!
Choosing the right type of oil is important too – and our certified technicians can help! We stock a variety of oil types, including conventional, full synthetic, and synthetic blend. Your owner’s manual will include the recommended type of oil and oil change interval, so be sure to check it out!
Need a Chevrolet oil change near me? Some drivers prefer to change their own oil, but if you’d like to skip the hassle and trust our team instead, schedule Greenwood oil change service in SC today!
Tire Maintenance
Like the components mentioned above, your tires play an incredibly important role in your vehicle’s performance. Checking tires’ tread and alignment is key to keeping your family safe on the road. If you notice a vibrating sensation or your car begins to pull to one side, it’s likely time for a Greenwood wheel alignment in SC. A brake inspection also includes a check of the suspension, bearings, and shocks to ensure every component is in good condition.
Be sure that tires are properly inflated too, according to manufacturer recommendations – especially when temperatures drop and tire pressure follows suit. Keep in mind that under- or overinflation can affect both fuel efficiency and handling. That means proper tire maintenance can also save you money at the pump!
Tire rotations are another simple service that can prevent uneven, premature tire wear. Here at Legacy Chevrolet, we recommend tire rotations about every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, or whenever you have your oil changed. To schedule Chevrolet service, contact us today!
Battery Tests
Tasked with providing the energy needed to start the engine, your vehicle’s battery is one of its most vital components. In addition to its age, weather conditions impact your battery’s lifespan. Harsh temperatures can take a toll, so it’s particularly important to schedule a battery check after a long, cold winter. Our service specialists will also make sure your battery is free of dirt and grime to prevent corrosion.
You may begin to notice some signs, like a hesitant start or dimmed lights when you turn the ignition, that it’s time to schedule Chevrolet service. And because batteries typically only last about three to five years, you may want to schedule more frequent checks as you near the projected end of your battery’s life.
Cooling System Checks
While it performs the simple function of keeping your vehicle cool, this system is made up of many components – including the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and coolant. Proper coolant flow is needed to prevent overheating, with each component doing its part.
Our Chevrolet service experts can ensure you’re using the correct coolant for your specific make and model, and that proper levels are maintained. We’ll also flush the radiator and replace coolant, often once a year or so. Plus, your cooling system inspection will include a check of the radiator hose to prevent potentially damaging leaks and cracks.

What It’s Known For
Chevy is adding the Collector’s Edition package to select 2024 Camaro trims, adding design elements reminiscent of the ’60s first generation models. Available in coupe and soft-top convertible variants, this latest generation Camaro is known for taking style to the streets.
Designed to optimize aerodynamics and overall performance, the lighter and sleeker sixth generation Camaro is reminiscent of the Corvette – with the addition of a back seat. Three special editions have been available throughout production, with the 50th Anniversary Special Edition and Hot Wheels Edition introduced in 2017 and the Redline Edition released during the 2018 model year.
So what’s next? Committed to producing an electric-only lineup by 2035, GM is expected to introduce an electric performance sedan to fill the gaping hole in the line-up that the Camaro will leave behind. It’s possible that GM might even recycle the Camaro name.
The Final Ride Special Edition
To ensure the Camaro finishes strong, GM is expected to release an exclusive Collector’s Edition package. While details are still lacking, it has been confirmed that the package will be available on RS and SS trims as well as select ZL1 models. Some teaser photos have been leaked, showing a wing-like rear spoiler and multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Stay tuned for details on the Final Collector’s Edition package!

Brief History of Both Trucks
Chevy Silverado
The Chevy Silverado made its debut in 1999, emerging as an alternative to the GMC Sierra, its mechanical twin. This new light-duty pickup replaced the brand’s C/K pickups, with the first generation referred to as the “classic” body style. It later came with three cab styles (a two-door standard cab, an extended cab, and a four-door crew cab), three bed lengths (short, standard, and long), and two engine options (V6 and V8).
Several body design updates were made in the decade that followed the Silverado’s debut, with a heavy-duty Silverado introduced in 2000. Today, there are nine trim levels available: High Country, ZR2, LTZ, LT Trail Boss, RST, LT, Custom Trail Boss, Custom, and Work Truck.
Chevy Colorado
The Chevy Colorado was Chevrolet’s first venture into the mid-size truck market, with those that came before landing squarely in the compact category. As the replacement for the Chevrolet S-10, the Colorado Chevy for sale shares its platform with Isuzu and was produced in both Thailand and Louisiana. First-generation models were offered in three trim levels with three cab configurations and 10 engine options.
After its launch in 2004, the Chevy Colorado’s production paused from 2012 to 2015. Now back and bolder than ever, the Colorado’s closest competitor is the Toyota Tacoma. Choose from five trim levels, including the ZR2, Z71, Trail Boss, LT, and WT.

What to Look for in a Used Car
Used vehicles are an affordable alternative to buying new, offering a reliable ride at a budget-friendly price. But purchasing a pre-owned car, truck, or SUV comes with some uncertainty, especially if you’re buying from a private seller. To ensure your purchase is a great investment, our team at Legacy Chevrolet has provided some helpful information below. Check it out, then stop by to browse our diverse used vehicle inventory!
Why to Buy a Used Car from a Dealership
Buying a used vehicle from a local dealership you trust adds peace of mind to your purchase. Plus, you’ll have a wide variety of vehicles to choose from – so you’ll be sure to find one that matches your lifestyle as well as your budget. You’ll also enjoy better financing options, with a dedicated finance specialist guiding you each step of the way. Dealer warranties are another great benefit, protecting your purchase once you cruise off the lot.
Buying from a private seller, however, is a much riskier option. Without a detailed vehicle history report, you don’t know anything about the used car’s past – and you can’t be sure the seller is disclosing all the relevant information. Remember that your purchase won’t come with warranty protection and in many cases, you’ll pay more than you would at a dealership.
Choosing the Right Dealership
It’s undeniable that buying a used vehicle at a dealership is a much safer option than choosing a private seller. But it’s important to choose the right dealership! Consider these factors when deciding where to start your car-buying journey:
Hours and Location The car-buying process should be convenient, so be sure to choose a local dealership with hours that fit your schedule. Once you’ve found one, stop by to ensure the sales staff provides the kind of friendly customer service you deserve!
Financing Options Here at Legacy Chevrolet, we work with customers from a wide range of credit backgrounds – but not every dealership can say the same. Be sure that the dealership you choose offers financing options that meet your needs, as well as online tools that expedite the process.
Available Inventory To ensure you find the perfect model, it’s important that a dealership offers a varied selection of cars, trucks, and SUVs. Check their catalog of available vehicles online to get a better idea of the selection you’ll find on the lot. If you don’t see any vehicles that catch your eye, that dealership might not be the one for you!
Customer Reviews Ratings and reviews can reveal a lot about a dealership. Read what customers are saying online about the selection and customer service to see what kind of reputation the dealership has.
Ongoing Relationship Keep in mind that your used vehicle purchase should be the beginning of a long-term relationship with the dealership. A top-notch Service Center is key, ensuring you’ll enjoy quality maintenance and repair services for years – and miles – to come.
What to Expect at a Used Car Dealership
Finding the perfect used car takes some research, but the savings could be significant! Our team will help you find the perfect vehicle, but before you arrive, ask yourself the following to ensure you drive home happy:
- What type of vehicle am I looking for?
- What are my “must-haves?” (specific safety features, ample cargo space, towing capacity, etc.)
- What is my budget? (Factor in additional costs like sales tax and registration fees!)
- Is fuel economy a priority?
Once we learn more about your needs and budget, our sales staff can provide some vehicle recommendations! Then, it’s time for a test drive! Getting behind the wheel is often the best way to determine if a vehicle is the right fit, and if it is, your next stop is our Finance Center. Here at Legacy Chevrolet, a finance specialist will customize a payment plan that meets your unique needs – always keeping your budget in mind!

The All-New 2024 Corvette E-Ray
The line-up’s latest Corvette adds a jolt of electric energy, marking the next generation in this iconic sports car’s legacy. With over 70 years in the rear-view, the Corvette has been electrified for the very first time with the introduction of the 2024 E-Ray. Here’s what we know so far:
What to Expect
Since it originally cruised onto the scene in 1953, the Corvette has improved with each model year – and quickly become one of America’s most beloved sports cars. The 2024 Corvette E-Ray now includes an electrified e-AWD system that pairs with a 495-horsepower LT2 V8 engine to sprint from zero to 60 mph in an astonishing 2.5 seconds. All-season tires and Magnetic Selective Ride ControlTM optimize handling, so you can cruise with confidence year-round. Plus, Stealth Mode utilizes only electric power when you want to stay silent.
The Power of The Corvette
The e-AWD system is built to tackle any terrain, including slippery surfaces slick with ice, snow, mud, or rain. But that’s not all! With technology borrowed from C8.R race cars and Le Mans prototypes, as well as carbon ceramic brakes, the 2024 Corvette E-Ray muscles ahead of the competition. You’ll also enjoy rapid acceleration courtesy of the electric drive unit that sits atop the front axle.
High-Powered Engine
The 2024 Corvette E-Ray is expertly equipped with a L2 V8 engine that delivers 495 horsepower and 470 lb.ft. of torque. Combined with the 160-horsepower electric motor, it produces an overall 655 horsepower! That means it races ahead of the Corvette 06, making it the fastest Corvette ever!
8-Speed Transmission
The E-Ray’s eight-speed dual clutch transmission boasts the smooth shifting of an automatic vehicle with the expert control of a manual, ensuring an unmatched experience behind the wheel. Plus, a variable Drive Style Index senses your driver inputs and responds accordingly, intuitively timing gear holds and downshifts.
Battery
A 1.9 kWh lithium-ion battery powers the electric drive unit located over the front axle. The self-charging battery gains energy as you go, making sure your drive is defined by optimal efficiency and performance. In fact, these electrified improvements have shaved 0.5-second off this Corvette’s zero-to-60 time!
Exterior Beauty
The E-Ray’s body design is as sleek and stylish as Corvette drivers would expect. With 14 eye-catching exterior colors to choose from, you’re sure to find a model that matches your unique style! New blue, cactus, and gray colors join the palette, with a blue body-length stripe and black trim also available.
Newly Designed Wheels
The 2024 Corvette E-Ray’s wheels feature all-season tires, with a wider design to provide a more aggressive stance. Mated with carbon ceramic brakes, these freshly designed wheels ensure precise stops even at higher speeds.
Interior Design
With a cabin as stylishly appointed as its exterior, the Corvette E-Ray brings a new green-toned “Artemis Dipped” theme to life. This theme, exclusively available for 2024 models, can be customized with three different seat options, seven interior colors, and two carbon fiber trim packages.
Top-Tier Technology
Be sure to check out the latest technology from the driver’s seat of your new 2024 Corvette E-Ray. Don’t miss these must-have features:
- Head-up display
- Performance Data Recorder
- Wireless Apple CarPlay®† and Android AutoTM† compatibility
- 14-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system
- Updated display screens
- All-new E-Ray App for viewing performance data
